Splicing is the
joining of two rope ends to form a long splice in two pieces of
rope, making a single continuous loop.
The Long Splice
is used for splicing Haulage Ropes and long lengths of wire rope
operating under heavy loads. ANSI specifications for splice length
are 1200 times the diameter of the rope, or 30 times the diameter
for tuck ends.
